In-Form Retarders

ACC “Altus” Series In-form retarders are designed for use in horizontal or vertical formwork. They are solvent-based and look like paint, coming in different colors to designate the depth of etch or aggregate exposure. When applied to formwork they provide an abrasion-resistant surface so that concrete, while being placed, doesn’t remove retarder from the forms. The retarder coating the form reacts chemically with the concrete preventing the immediate depth of the concrete from setting. After the concrete has set and the form pulled, the surface of the concrete that was in contact with the form may be flushed with high pressure water. This rinses away the cement revealing the desired depth, exposing aggregate or simply imparting a sandblast or acid etch effect.

Altus In-Form Retarder

Altus Series In-Form Retarder

Altus Series In-Form retarders are a group of high performance in-form retarders with excellent heat resistance. The Altus Series is especially suited for insulated panels where moisture levels are critical. A single full-bodied coat of any Altus Series retarder applied over our In Form Undercoat Release will yield reproducible, uniform results. Available in 9 depths of etch a test panel simulating job conditions should be poured for proper grade selection.

Coverage: approximately 300-350 sq. ft./gal.

Altus VOC In-Form Retarder

Altus VOC Series In-Form Retarder

Altus Series In-Form retarders are a group of high performance in-form retarders with excellent heat and abrasion resistance. A single full-bodied coat or two light coats of any Altus Series VOC retarder will yield reproducible, uniform results. Available in 10 depths of etch, a test panel-simulating job conditions should be poured for proper grade selection. Coverage: approximately 300-350 sq. ft./gal. Altus Series VOC is a reformulated low emitting version of Altus Series developed for the California precast and cast in place market specifically within the SCAQMD.

Vertical Joint Profiler Medium

Vertical Joint Profiler (VJP) Medium and Deep

ACC Vertical Joint Profiler VOC retarders are a select group of high performance in-form and top surface retarders with excellent abrasion in the vertical profiler and heat resistance in both materials. ACC Vertical Joint Profiler VOC is especially suited for the most difficult concrete placements against the formwork where abrasion resistance for vertical placements up to 12 + feet and placement times up to 90 minutes are required, as well as length of time in the form on construction joint applications requiring extended curing prior to form removal. Heat resistance up to 160º F. Coverage rates 150-250 sq.ft./gal. Available in 1 depth of etch, Medium #125 (White). A test panel simulating job conditions should always be done to aid in proper grade selection depending on the length of cure time prior to the removal of form work as well as the size of coarse aggregate in the concrete mix design to be used. ACC Joint Profiler formulation is V.O.C. compliant in all jurisdictions including the SCAQMD, CARB, LADCO, OTC along with EPA Federal Regulations and all provinces in Canada with less than 25 g/l.
